Regardless, of whether it’s the face, the back or shoulders, acne inflammations during the summertime will only serve as a frustration. Along those lines, acne doesn’t have to be something that is suffered from annually or seasonally—it can be managed. There are some wonderful and effective summer pimple treatments that come with a little more education about the nature of acne and the natural growth of the skin.
Summer and the Skin
As summer approaches and the sun begins to shine brighter and warmer, many people will begin to struggle with additional acne inflammations. Seasonal acne is quite common, and with the advent of such an annual occurrence even some of the most trusted pimple treatments can become quite ineffective.
For many, mild sun exposure may actually seem to help with the overall clarity of the skin, but in truth, unprotected sun exposure is quite damaging to the skin at a level that cannot be seen with the naked eye. For many others, the sun may irritate the skin to the point of aiding the development of new pimples. Everyone’s skin is different, and the sun certainly won’t have the same effect on every complexion, but for everyone who plans to spend time in the sunshine during the summer months, sunscreen is a must. There are great facial moisturizers that can be added to any skin care regimen that contain an appropriate level SPF.

When the temperatures rise, the body is going to naturally cool itself. This means increased sweat production. While sweat isn’t a bad thing, allowing it to remain on the skin’s surface for long amounts of time can actually add to the process of developing pimples. All acne is caused by dead skin cells combining with bacteria from the skin’s surface and skin oil (sebum) from the sebaceous gland. Sweat will help aid the dead skin cells in retaining their “stickiness,” and thus they are more likely to begin clogging a follicle or pore, causing a whitehead or blackhead pimple.
One of the most effective summer pimple treatments to reduce seasonal or summer acne is a daily exfoliation. Completing each day with a skin cleansing process and a facial skin care regimen will greatly help in the prevention of additional acne development. For individuals suffering from pimples on the shoulders, chest and/or back, an acne treatment regimen should be applied to these trouble spots. Sweat can really play a factor in these body areas.
It is a good idea to use a gentle exfoliant in the morning and evening. The morning cleansing should be followed with the application of a quality moisturizer with an appropriate SPF sunscreen to protect from UVA/UVB rays. For prolonged sun exposure, sunscreen should be applied every 2-4 hours.
Evening Pimple Treatment
A great pimple treatment to end the day: Wash away all of the sweat, and exfoliate the skin to aid in the natural regeneration process. This will also help to remove one of the key contributors to summer pimples. If acne has become a problem, follow the exfoliation with a good toner or astringent, which will help to constrict the skin pores. Next, apply a liberal amount of the over-the-counter product such as benzoyl peroxide to the face and other areas prone to breakouts. Once the benzoyl peroxide has dried, follow with the application of a moisturizer.
These pimple treatments will truly aid in overall skin clarity during the summer.
